Award winning artist, Sergei Orgunov, has enjoyed more than approval from judges in local and regional shows. He enjoys the public recognition his unique style of work brings. Each canvas comes alive with vivid expression and exquisite detail, as Sergei explores both fantasy and realism.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1965, Sergei made the United States his home in 1992. Sergei's art reflects his love of his homeland, as well as, his appreciation for his adopted home. He can handle any subject and capture any mood with his careful skill. Through layers of color and form, the subject becomes an illusion demanding further study. Equally fun and serious, Sergei's work has captured the heart of art patrons wherever he is shown.
Locally, Sergei is affiliated with such prestigious galleries as Pedestrians and Krasnaya, as well as being featured in the Water's Edge, Coastal Castles and Arbus magazines. He has also been featured in The Florida Times Union And Folio Weekly & Entertainment. Sergei's work dominates many of the displays at the Jacksonville Zoo where he served as a staff artist and later as an independent artist-contractor. His murals are a vital contribution to every exhibit including the Wildlife Florida and the most recent Australian exhibits. Sergei is a member of the Jacksonville and St. Augustine Art Associations where he is highly recognized for his award-winning work. He also has enjoyed commercial success as an international artist, and his work has been published in several books and distributed nationwide.
