Michael R. Boelke
With a career that began in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war, Michael has been an award winning graphic artist for almost forty years. As the department chairman in a university level graphic design program for eighteen years, he wrote all of the curriculum for the program and taught every class from beginning drawing to advanced computer graphics.
Michaels eclectic skills run the gamut, from painting with gouache to drawing with pastels and colored pencils. Michaels fine art work is best described as photo realistic in his pastel and colored pencil drawings and semi-impressionistic in his gouache paintings. A mostly self taught
fine artist, he has a special eye for animal portraits and in particular
loves to render native Florida animals and birds.
Michaels’ years as a graphic designer have given him the ability to be
an creative even with the client standing and looking over his shoulder.
“Being creative on demand is an ability you acquire after a while. If I
wait for my muse to arise, I wouldn't get much work done.”
