Louise Hooper -
Those who view and purchase oil paintings by Louise Hooper often comment on her vibrant colors as well as the quality of her brush strokes and lines. Her trademark is to work quickly with loose brush strokes in an impressionistic style.
A native of Atlanta, GA., Louise lived in Dallas, Texas for many years where she was a commercial real estate broker. In 2001 she returned to Georgia, moving to St. Simons Island, and pursued her life goal of drawing and painting. The island's beauty, history and tranquility continually inspire her work.
Louise's training includes a BFA degree in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia, four years of academic study with Jeanne Nelson Szabo, weekly studio sessions with Ken Wallin and numerous workshops with other nationally acclaimed artists. Her travels to France, Italy and Mexico for study have further broadened and enriched her art experiences.
